COE Renews Partnership with US Army Training & Doctrine Command (TRADOC)

May 28, 2024

The Council on Occupational Education (COE) is pleased to announce the continuation and renewal of its partnership with the US Army Training & Doctrine Command (TRADOC). Over the past months, COE has diligently worked to review existing Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with TRADOC, ensuring more efficient use of resources and streamlining accreditation processes for member institutions.

The updated agreement enables member institutions affiliated with both COE and TRADOC to optimize scheduling, eliminating the need for separate accreditation visits. Dr. Kirk Nooks, President and CEO of the Council on Occupational Education, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, “I’m encouraged by the level of cooperation to streamline the accreditation visit for our member institutions. In the event our member institutions hold the distinction of being affiliated with more than one accreditor, we believe it should be double the recognition but not necessarily double the expense.”

“Accreditation and quality assurance go hand-in-hand and take place in learning institutions to ensure the products and services meet or exceed customer/client expectations. It is for this reason, the partnership between the U.S. Army and COE makes great sense to assure quality academic standards are the foundation of a first-rate training and education within our learning institutions,” states Dr. John Plifka (GS-15), Director, Army Quality Assurance Program, TRADOC.

This partnership underscores COE’s commitment to supporting educational institutions and ensuring the highest standards of quality and accreditation. The collaboration not only facilitates a more seamless accreditation process but also reduces operational burdens for member institutions.

Looking ahead, COE anticipates further expansion of its partnerships and the development of additional MOUs in the coming months. These initiatives aim to foster greater cooperation within the education sector and enhance accreditation processes for institutions nationwide.
