President Dr. Kirk A. Nooks Brings Presidential Leadership in Motion Tour to Alabama

The Council on Occupational Education continued its Presidential Leadership in Motion Tour with two impactful stops in Alabama, showcasing excellence in technical education and innovation at J.F. Ingram State Technical College and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Huntsville.

 

At J.F. Ingram State Technical College located in Deatsville, Alabama, Dr. Kirk A. Nooks, President and CEO of COE was warmly welcomed by campus leadership and stakeholders. His visit included a guided campus tour, opportunities to observe classrooms, and direct engagement with students and faculty. The tour concluded with closing remarks celebrating the institution’s mission and dedication to student success.

 

“It was an honor to welcome Dr. Nooks to J.F. Ingram State Technical College,” said President Funderburk. “His visit affirms the important role our college plays in providing high-quality, accredited technical education to justice-involved students. The second Alabama stop took place at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Huntsville, one of the world’s premier public engineering, design, and construction management agencies. The agenda featured leadership introductions, a student engagement session, a director-led technology showcase, and meaningful interactions with faculty, staff, directors, and student representatives.

 

Reflecting on both visits, Dr. Nooks, emphasized the importance of seeing institutional excellence firsthand: “The Presidential Leadership in Motion Tour allows me to witness the transformative work happening every day across our accredited institutions. From Ingram State’s commitment to second chances through education, to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ innovation in engineering and technology, these visits highlight the dedication of faculty, staff, and students who are shaping brighter futures for individuals and communities alike.”
